Communication Education and Public Awareness (CEPA) Training Workshop for young people/youth of Yawri Bay communities

To build capacity of young conservationists and to promote the conservation of migratory birds in Sierra Leone, the Sierra Leone Nature Guides Association in collaboration with local partners organized the first communication, education and public awareness (CEPA) training workshop for young people/youth in Sierra Leone in celebration of World Migratory Bird Day 2023.

Report reviews success of the 2022 East Atlantic Flyway Youth Forum

 Encouraged by the experience at the first East Atlantic Flyway Youth Forum (EAFYF) held in 2021, the organising team from Youth Engaged in Wetlands, the Wildfowl and Wetland Trust, and the Wadden Sea Flyway Initiative organised a fundraising training for EAFYF 2022, building on the outcomes of the first forum. The aim was to increase the youths’ capacity to write successful grant proposals to raise money for their conservation projects. A progress report on the EAFYF 2022 and related activities has now been published.

1st East Atlantic Flyway Youth Forum 2021

This online event aimed to connect youth leaders, scientists, activists, artists, and conservationists in the East Atlantic Flyway through a series of intensive virtual workshops, platform exchanges, and networking activities to explore youth engagement in the conservation of wetlands and migratory waterbirds along the East Atlantic Flyway.
