This report reviews existing management plans for key coastal wetland sites in Mauritania, Senegal and Guinea-Bissau, including Banc d’Arguin National Park, the Saloum Delta and the Bolama-Bijagós Archipelago Biosphere Reserve. It assesses how effectively the plans address biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, nature-based solutions, stakeholder participation, governance and local livelihoods, identifying key gaps and opportunities for improvement.

This report analyses coastal policies and their implementation across three key sites on the East Atlantic Flyway: Banc d’Arguin National Park in Mauritania, the Saloum Delta in Senegal and the Bijagós Archipelago in Guinea-Bissau. It reviews the legal, policy and institutional frameworks governing these important coastal ecosystems, identifying strengths, gaps and challenges in their implementation.

This document provides guidance for monitoring waterbird abundance at critical sites along the East Atlantic Flyway, with a particular focus on Western Africa. Developed as part of the CREAF Monitoring Toolbox, it outlines recommended approaches for monitoring non-breeding and breeding populations, including coordinated counts and more intensive monitoring at selected sites and breeding colonies.

Drawing on a review of partner policies and practices, this policy synthesis identifies common strengths and gaps of gender-responsive conservation and proposes a shared approach aligned with the IKI Gender Strategy.
