Study on the hunting pressure during the dry season on waterbirds in the wetlands of southern Benin
February 2022, Benin
This study concerns the areas around Lake Nokoué, the Sô River and the coastal lagoons of Benin, from Cotonou to Grand-Popo via Ouidah. These areas are included in Ramsar sites 1017 and 1018, characterized by a significant diversity of waterbirds. The study aimed at documenting the hunting pressure on waterbirds in the dry season and provides a first estimation of the number of birds taken from each species on a weekly basis.
