Relaunching the process for World Heritage nomination of the Bolama-Bijagós Archipelago

Given its natural uniqueness and its importance to migratory birds, a national workshop was supported to relaunch the process for nomination of the archipelago as a site under the World Heritage Convention. During the workshop, the previous nomination, the current status of the site, the scenarios for a new nomination and alternatives were discussed and debated by the participants from the local communities.
