Building capacities of local associations in the Atlantic Moroccan Sahara in waterbird identification and monitoring (phase II)

The Moroccan Atlantic Sahara region plays an important role along the East Atlantic Flyway, with multiple sites being visited by migratory waterbirds. Two training workshops on the identification and monitoring of waterbirds took place for the benefit of two local NGOs: Sahara Association for coastal and rural development and Research and studies Group on Saharan Coast. The two NGOs also expressed their commitment to contributing to the winter censuses of waterbirds in accordance with national and international guidelines.
