Review of Management Plans for Key Coastal Wetlands along the East Atlantic Flyway

This report reviews existing management plans for key coastal wetland sites in Mauritania, Senegal and Guinea-Bissau, including Banc d’Arguin National Park, the Saloum Delta and the Bolama-Bijagós Archipelago Biosphere Reserve. It assesses how effectively the plans address biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, nature-based solutions, stakeholder participation, governance and local livelihoods, identifying key gaps and opportunities for improvement. The findings provide recommendations to strengthen future management planning and support more effective, participatory and climate-resilient management of critical sites along the East Atlantic Flyway.
